Is set for this Saturday 9 July, just in time for the start of the winter school holidays.
Organised by the Christchurch City Council, you just need to get a view of the pier and make sure you are in position by 7pm for the 13 minutes display accompanied by a soundtrack of Kiwi musical classics.
Now some of you will have realised the weather god (Tāwhirimātea) could send rain on the night as forecasters have predicted.
You may be here from 5.30 on as there will be food trucks galore and coffee and various restaurants open for business including the popular Carnaby Lane Collective, and entertainment.
Rug up, bring your finest smile and have a good time. The fireworks though may be called off as late as 7pm, weather dependent.
Sunday 10th is the back-up day and looks better condition wise, though either day bring warm clothes and rain hat.
A park and ride bus service is running from Eastgate Mall to New Brighton between 4:30pm – 6:30pm, with return rides from 7:30pm – 9:30pm.
See map below for road closures and a couple photos from previous years.
