It must be the New Brighton Community Garden Fete on Saturday 28th of October hosted by the top twins, not the singing sisters but the next best thing in Cath and Lyn.
This event is on from 12 noon till 3pm and will be fun for the whole family. As well as music there will be a BBQ, Devonshire teas, op-shopping, face and rock painting, and a raft of other things including the sale of home-made produce.
There is over 2000 seedlings for sale including 26 different varieties of tomatoes. Lots of summer vege options and very affordable herbs.
Remember CASH only.
As you enter from Shaw Av, look at the series of images on the old picket fence painted by Robert from the New Brighton Gallery depicting the flight of the godwits 7,000 km across the world, 8 to 11 days from Alaska to the estuary. Travelling up to 3 km above the earth and able to do 100km an hour with the wind behind them.
A non-stop flight of incredible stamina and the paintings illustrate the world they cross.
Then go into the community gardens and celebrate summer.
