You will see a lot of social media ad and local rag stuff driven by the City Council urging people to make a submission to the LONG TERM PLAN for Christchurch, and how it should spend its 13.1 billion dollars over the next decade.
The Council have come up with a draft plan and want you to read it and provide feedback and maybe come up with ideas of your own.
This is a reminder the New Brighton Residents Assn have a guest speaker down at the Penguin Arms on Monday at 6.30pm to explain the reasons behind LTPs and give some hints about how you can make a submission.
Engagement Manager from the City Council Katy McRae will provide information for you to take away and mull over between now and April 18th, the deadline for making a submission of your view, opinion, suggestions.
Remember, she will NOT have answers for why specific funding is allocated to specific projects, those questions can be directed to the Coastal Community Board representatives down at New Brighton Market on Saturday the 27th March.
The very hard working Community Board member Jo Zervos for instance, is putting together a submission on behalf of a lot of locals concerned about the state of New Brighton Rd, and wants that on the list of to-do within the next decade, as it is not on the current LTP.
6.30 at Penguin Arms opposite the New Brighton Library Monday 22nd March.
