A new event is about to enter the Coastal calendar and it is happening this Saturday.
A new developer is about to add his footprint to the local scene and this time it is in North New Brighton.
It is taking place right beside the old Kazbah site and will involve beer and food.
The man behind the “Event Space” is Alban “Orbs” Beaumont with his splendid red surf waggon, the symbol of the north beach area.
Orbs is one of a new breed of young developers coming in with ideas and passion, and in his case with a long association with the seaside suburb as can be seen from his New Brighton rugby jersey.
He is very effusive about where greater New Brighton is going, and that is like a skyrocket. “There is an incredible belief the next few years will bring a major facelift and already seeing the beginnings up and down the coastline with new surf clubs, Bridge Hub, residential builds, great new schools, sports hubs and so on.”
Orbs says it is time to add value, life and activity to the north with the start of his project (still under wraps), and initially that is an event space where things can happen.
Who would have known the owners of Southpaw Brewery live in the area and they are going to launch some brews at 19 Bowhill Rd from 3pm Saturday till about 7.30pm
Along with that will be food from Illicit Foods and Tiki Taco.
Well, that’s dinner sorted.
