There was a rumour the best known little restaurant ‘Chanakya’ located within the Surfside Mall was up for sale…partly true.
For those who have never been there, some have called it the best exponent of South Indian food outside of India. The problem having a great reputation is coping with increasing patronage and Chanakya has outgown its little kitchen and very small dining area.
The owners of this business are very keen to stay in New Brighton but need bigger premises, not of a huge size but with a larger cooking space and room for customers to sit down whether dining in or taking out. This could be an opportunity for a local landlord to split a building whereby multiple businesses can co-exist possibly on a food theme.

Chanakya lived about 300BC and was according to information on the internet, a famous Hindu philosopher-teacher which according to my maths was 2,322 years ago and about 80 years before construction started on the Great Wall of China.
