The I LOVE NEW BRIGHTON event is on Monday the 6th of February (Waitangi Day) starting 11am in Thomson Park.
This weekend has proved people love New Brighton by turning up in thousands over the last few days reaching saturation point on Saturday.
As this fantastic sun-fest continues, Friday was busy as temperatures reached 32 degrees and on Saturday was massive with the day even hotter.
The consequence of our hot Canterbury summer show why Pegasus Bay is one of the best beaches in the country, offering a large stretch of coastline allowing easy access whether you want to swim in South Brighton or Spencer Park, although at Waimairi a passing shark briefly interrupted surf life-saving champs and cooling bathing.
There were thousands of beach goers no matter what direction you looked stretching as far as the eye could see.
For those of us living nearby this is our backyard and why there are increasing numbers wanting to live near the beach far east
Not just the beach as on Saturday the greater coastal area was alive with activity in parks, malls and anywhere there were trees and shade and as we all recover from Covid, cost of living and any other challenges of the past year or two, the therapy for rejuvenation was here for all to enjoy…
