The return of crowds to sports events and public areas was not better illustrated than New Brighton on Sunday March 27.
Most people knew about rugby and cricket, unaware there was a competition on the water with a grommet (under 16) girls and boys surf champs. The great thing about youth comps… and there were 120 entries over for the weekend event… they bring parents who often bring campers and money, and teens these days are not just content with sandwiches and movie tickets.
See youth having fun in New Brighton is part of our future investment in people.
As usual there was a lot of other visitors down the beach and the gulls had birds-eye seats to the action…
Oh, to be (blank) years younger.
